Man arrested for kicking; injuring 2 Columbus officers

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Two Columbus police officers were injured on Monday.

According to a police report, 30-year-old Calvin Callaway Jr. was arrested for kicking an officer in the chest and throat and kicking another police officer in the torso.

Officers were called to the 5000 block of Lasalle Drive regarding an incident that is under investigation and Callaway was later arrested.

Both officers received minor injuries including lacerations to both hands for one officer and a laceration to the right wrist for the other officer.

Callaway has been charged with aggravated assault and two counts of obstruction of an officer.
