FIRST TO ALERT: Record high temperatures are in jeopardy this week.

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - It's going to be another warm day around the Valley with highs reaching into the upper 70s and low 80s. Highs will be near the record high for each day through Saturday. Yesterday we hit a new record high in Columbus of 81.

The warm stretch of weather will begin to change for the weekend. Highs will dip into the mid 70s on Sunday with highs all next week in the upper 60s and low 70s. Today's rain chance increases to a 30% chance - mainly in the afternoon/evening. A 20% rain chance will be with us Wednesday.

I kept things mostly dry for Thursday, Friday and Saturday. By Sunday our coverage of rain will be at 40% as we track our next weather changer into the area. Low rain chances and cloudy skies stick around into next week, too.

Our first weather radio programming event kicks off this Wednesday at the Veteran's Pkwy Walgreen's at Williams Rd. We'll be there from 10-2 ET programming weather radios for free. You can buy one there or bring one in. See ya there!
