LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - The Lee County District Attorney's Office are hosting events to bring awareness of the dangers of social media apps commonly used by children.
'Sex, Cell Phones, and Social Media Safety' is two one-hour events to bring awareness to the apps that children are downloading and using.
According to the district attorney's office, social media apps not only attract cyber predators, but the misuse of them can lead to criminal charges for children. These topics and more will be discussed at the event.
The first discussion took place at the Lee County Justice Center Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. The second discussion will be held at Smiths Station High School March 20 at 6 p.m.
Sex, Cell Phones, and Social Media will also be broadcasted live on Facebook. Viewers will be able to ask questions in the comments section.
