OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) - Ashton Tyler is not your average Opelika Middle School student. The 11-year-old appeared in Disney/Marvel's blockbuster, Black Panther.
The movie expected to pass $500 million in the global box office and has been the talk among people across the country and world.
This East Alabama local spent weeks on set watching what he calls a masterpiece unfold.
"It's about coming together making something beautiful and everybody just being happy," Tyler said. "My favorite part was just seeing the set."
Tyler played the younger version of the main character who is played by American actor Chadwick Boseman in a flashback within the movie.
The Opelika student says it's not all fun and games. "It's a lot of hard work, you have to study lines in as little as five minutes," Tyler said.
Acting roles don't stop here for the 11-year-old, Tyler said he will also have a role in Uncle Drew which hits theaters June of this year. Uncle Drew is a movie based on basketball that features current and former NBA superstars like Kyrie Irving and Shaquille O'Neal.
Tyler says his goal is to win a "big time" award by the time he is 14 years old.
