LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - A group of City of LaGrange employees participated in the world's largest obstacle race at Fort Benning this past weekend.

The group made up of employees who are all 45 and older,  competed in the Spartan Ranger Challenge Sprint Saturday.

The Spartan Ranger Challenge is a 5.5-mile race that consists of different obstacle courses integrated into Fort Benning's Best Ranger Competition.

The group was sponsored by the Development Authority of LaGrange.

"We made the decision to participate in the Spartan Fort Benning Sprint as a team building exercise and soon realized the impact was underestimated, "said Development Authority of LaGrange President Scott Malone. "Each person has strengths and weakness but by working together collaboratively our team persevered to overcome individual weaknesses to ensure the success of the team.  Working side by side with people who share the vision of team success is inspirational and we are honored to work with each other every day."

The team called itself 'What was I Thinking' and included nine participants.
