COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Volunteers in the Chattahoochee Valley were celebrated during a special lunch Tuesday.
Tri-Community Directors of Volunteer Services (Tri-DVS) held its annual awards lunch for 12 nominees that have volunteered their time to the community. The event took place at St. Luke Ministry Center and volunteers were awarded in four categories.
"Volunteerism is such a selfless act. We couldn't do our work without our volunteers," says Katie Green, the director of Volunteer at Piedmont.
Tri-DVS is a networking organization for those involved in management of volunteer programs and has served Muscogee County and the surrounding area since 1985. The mission of the organization is to provide support, training, and networking opportunities and professions skills accreditation to its members.
The organization also aims to promote volunteerism in the community.
