Man arrested for shooting at Lucky Food Mart on Floyd Rd.

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – An arrest has been made in connection with the Lucky Food Mart shooting on Floyd Road.

On Tuesday around 12:30 p.m. police responded to the 1900 block of Floyd Road in reference to a person being shot in the arm.

Police arrested 22-year-old Torrie Beard. He was charged with the following offenses:

  • Aggravated assault with a gun
  • Damage to private property
  • Reckless conduct
  • Possession of marijuana
  • Discharge firearms in the city
  • Possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of or attempt to commit certain crimes

Beard appeared in Recorder's Couty on Wednesday and his case was bound over to Superior Court after pleading not guilty to all charges.

He did not receive a bond on the aggravated assault charge, he received a $3,000 bond for reckless conduct, $1,500 for criminal damage, $250 for marijuana and a $1,000 fine for discharging a firearm.
