Suspects in high-speed U-Haul chase reportedly involved with a gang

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Suspects involved in a high-speed U-Haul chase in Columbus are reportedly part of a gang known as the Ghostface Gangsters.

The gang reportedly originated in a Cobb County jail, according to Columbus police.

Members and groups have are now expanding outside the prison walls are accused of participating in a number of illegal crimes. For the three men arrested in the high-speed chase in Columbus, Kevin Carver, Kevin Davis, and Brandon Barfield, the trio collectively faces over 40 charges.

Davis and Barfield are accused of assaulting police officers, robbery, and drugs. They are also facing several other chared.  Barfield appeared in Recorder's Court Thursday and pleaded not guilty to several charges including assaulting a police officer.  Davis also appeared in Recorder's Court Thursday and his public defender entered a not guilty plea on his behalf.

Major Hawk says if their gang affiliation is confirmed, the trio could potentially face additional charges.

The case is still in its preliminary phase.

Barfield and Davis remain in the Muscogee County Jail. Kevin Carver has since bonded out.
