COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A lot has happened both locally and nationally this week. Take a look back at some of the week's top stories.

A shooting at Arbor Pointe Apartments in Columbus left Kenyon Thomas dead. Hear emotional reaction from neighbors and friends. Thomas' body has been taken to Atlanta where an autopsy is being conducted.

An overnight shooting at a Columbus bar ended with one victim suffering a gunshot wound to the stomach. He was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional with non-life threatening injuries.

A group of basketball players in Louisiana took social media by storm after a photo of them kneeling went viral. The boys in the photo are kneeling out of respect as a funeral procession passed by their pickup game. Two sisters, attending the funeral of their cousin, were impressed and snapped the picture.

Ft. Benning's Maneuver Center of Excellence honored one of their own who they lost. Firefighter Greg Jackson of Phenix City, Alabama was assigned to Directorate of Emergency Services, Fort Benning Fire Department. Firefighter Jackson passed away while under medical care.

An incident occurring at Hartz Chicken in Columbus is shedding light on Americans with Disabilities Act service dog regulations. Cynthia Wolters and her service dog, Gemma, went to the buffet-style restaurant and proceeded to serve herself when an employee asked her to allow someone else to serve her food, which is against ADA provisions.

Sometimes you just have to take matters into your own hands. A shopper at a Kentucky Walmart got tired of waiting for assistance, so he took over the store's intercom to say, "Customer needs assistance in sporting goods, please. I'm the customer."

Columbus police responded to a shooting of a nine-year-old Sunday evening. The child was taken to Piedmont Columbus Regional where he was listed as being in stable condition.

A 5-month-old baby in California was struck by a car as his mother was pushing his stroller across a busy street. The impact launched the child 50 feet down the road, but he miraculously got away with just a few bumps and bruises.

A Valdosta, Ga doctor is facing felony charges after making violent threats to employees at her medical practice. A license suspension order states that she yelled expletives at employees and threatened to "slit their throats" and told another that she would cut her from her "throat to private parts."

Another royal baby as made his way into the world as part of the English monarchy. Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and his wife, Kate Middleton, gave birth to their third child, Prince Louis Arthur Charles. He becomes fifth in line for the throne behind his grandfather, Prince Charles, father, older brother, Prince George, and older sister, Princess Charlotte.
