Jacksonville Sharks player allegedly fires gun, arrested in Columbus after Lions game

(WTVM) - News Leader 9 has confirmed a Jacksonville Sharks football player has been arrested following a gun incident after Saturday's game against the Columbus Lions.

The Muscogee County Sheriff's office confirms linebacker Leon Mackey was arrested at the Columbus Civic Center for charges related to discharging a gun or pistol near a public highway as well as reckless conduct causing harm or endangering safety. Both of the following charges are misdemeanors in the state of Georgia.

Mackey, 29, was later released.

The Sharks lost 51-41 to the Lions Saturday night.
