COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Muscogee County's Director of Elections has been appointed to a new commission to study options for Georgia's next voting system.
Nancy Boren is one of about 20 people across the state who are part of the SAFE Commission which stands for Secure, Accessible and Fair Elections. Secretary of State Brian Kemp announced his list of appointees Monday morning.
The commission will look at all options including hand-marked paper ballots to electronic machines with a voter-verified paper trail.
They will provide recommendations to lawmakers before the next session of the General Assembly.
