LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) – A woman who has escaped authorities in West Georgia for the last month has been captured.
Investigators in Troup County had been searching for 31-year-old Katherine Groce since early March.
She was wanted for her suspected role in an on-going narcotics investigation.
Groce has been charged with 11 counts of distribution of methamphetamine and 11 counts of items prohibited for possession by inmates.
According to police, these charges stem from Groce's attempt to sneak methamphetamine into the Troup County Jail through the inmate mail system, which was unsuccessful each time.
Groce was arrested on Wednesday, and she has been denied bond and remains in the Troup County Jail.
Additional charges and arrests are pending.
