AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - A former Heisman trophy winner has made a large donation to those who protect and serve.
Former Auburn University football player Bo Jackson surprised the Auburn Police Department yesterday with four new motorcycles.
He said an experience with a pair of Auburn police officers inspired him to do something nice for them.
That experience happened two years ago when a tire on a bike Jackson was riding blew.
Two nearby officers stopped to help and then waited with him until he got a ride back to where we needed to be.
The Heisman winner says he just wants to treat others the way he would like to be treated.
The new additions increase APD's motorcycle fleet to six.
