COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Children in the daycare program at Easter Seals enjoyed an opportunity to interact with community partners in Columbus Friday.
Volunteers and partners including the Chick-fil-A Cow, Shaw High School students, firefighters, and police officers participated in a Mickey and Minnie Tea Party that was held for the children.
"It has a huge impact on the children because it's socialization and they get to participate in activities and sensory type activities. They love for readers to come in. So, it's just really enjoyable for them," says Traci Winchester, a children's program director.
The sensory activities gave autistic students a chance to participate in activities that allowed them to see, touch, and feel their surroundings.
