COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Columbus-Fort Benning Shrine Club held their spring fling vendor fair Apr. 28 to raise money to benefit Shriners Hospitals across the country.
The event featured local vendors, food, and bouncy houses.
Organizers say the event was fun for adults and kids alike.
"We help people in our backyard," said Lisa Miller, one of the event's organizers. "This is excellent. It is important to get people in the community involved."
Shriners opened its first Shriners Hospital for Children in 1922 in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Since then, Shriners have opened and have financially sustained 22 Shriners Hospitals for Children in North America.
