House of Heroes and volunteers complete home repairs for Navy veteran in Phenix City

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - House of Heroes-Chattahoochee Valley Chapter along with volunteers from Liberty Utilities and Fort Benning OCS partnered to help complete home repairs for a veteran in Phenix City.

Glen Holden began his military career in the U.S. Navy in 1965 and served for seven years. His last rank was Petty Officer Third Class Radarman during the Six Day War in 1967.

Susan Wood with House of Heroes says none of this would be possible without the work of the volunteers who helped install a new back porch at Holden's home.

"They have given up a day volunteering to do the work and we appreciate it so much," says Wood.

The mission of House of Heroes-Chattahoochee Valley Chapter Inc. is to recognize and honor military and public safety veterans and their spouses who have served the country faithfully and sacrificially.
