COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Allen Elementary School students are celebrating science, technology, engineering, and math, or STEAM.
News Leader 9 caught up with some students on Friday, May 4 as they performed science, engineering and math experiments in class.
Some of their activities included balloon stacking and flying paper helicopters.
After the experiments, students would have to answer questions concerning the math components of their lesson.
Lauren Gasser, the Academic Coach at Allen Elementary, says the event gives students the opportunity to have fun and learn at the same time.
"They are learning and very engaged," said Gasser. "Right here at the end of school, every teacher can vouch that you need something to keep the kids engaged."
This is the second year Allen Elementary has celebrated STEAM day in such a fun way.
