AUBURN, AL (WTVM) - On May 7, Auburn police arrested a man in obedience of a grand jury indictment charging him with sexual abuse of a child less than 12 years of age.
The arrest of 43-year-old Clifford Earl Williams comes after an investigation into the reported sexual abuse of a child reported on Aug. 10, 2015.
The investigation began when officials were made aware that Williams had possibly sexually abused a child while in his care prior to Aug. 10.
The Auburn Police Division and the Lee County Department of Human Resources confirmed Williams was the individual responsible.
The case was recently presented to a Lee County Grand Jury and indicted on the felony charge.
Williams turned himself in to Auburn police detectives and was taken into custody.
He is currently being held at the Lee County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
