COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Summer is right around the corner and for many, it is "timeshare" season as both sellers and buyers looking for just the right deal.
Kelvin Collins with the Better Business Bureau stopped by News Leader 9 to warn of some unscrupulous businesses out there in the market to bilk you out of your money.
Collins says to make sure you are only dealing with reputable companies before giving them anything.
He says that some good practices are to ask for something in writing, look over the contract, and watch out for upfront fees.
Some companies may tell you they will sell your timeshare for you if you give them some money up front, then leave you standing without your money and with your timeshare.
