COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) – Goodwill Southern Rivers hosted a resource fair in the Chattahoochee Valley.
There were more than 60 employers and community resources to provide advancement opportunities on Thursday.
This resource fair is part of Goodwill Industries' annual celebration of community services in an effort to slow the revolving door of unemployment and underemployment.
"During Goodwill Week we try to bring everyone together for an opportunity for candidates to come in and meet not just employers, but to access resources but to help them be successful with seeking employment. I just heard a few minutes ago that someone was offered a position. So they came here today after walking in the building and they go to work on Monday," said Career Center Manager Denise Eckley.
Some of the employment opportunities and resource industries available included:
- Continuing Education
- Retail and Customer Service
- Hotel and Hospitality
This resource fair took place at Goodwill's Midtown Career Center located at 2601 Cross Country Drive, Building A.
