Volunteers join House of Heroes to complete home repairs for Army widow

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Volunteers from TSYS joined House of Heroes-Chattahoochee Valley in completing home repairs for the spouse of a veteran in Columbus.

Lanette Hall received new interior painting and plumbing work on her home in honor of her late husband, Edward Hall.

"She just needed some painting, plumbing work, and some different things. We thought we could come in and do a really good paint job for her so that's why we selected her," said Victor Joseph, team captain of House of Heroes.

Edward Hall began active duty in the U.S. Army in November 1971 and served two years. While serving, he received the National Defense Service Medal and a Parachutist Badge.

Edward and Lanette Hall met at a homecoming dance in 1968 and married April 5, 1971. Edward Hall passed away in 1974.

Volunteers worked for nearly four hours to complete the project.
