East AL man found guilty for attempting to kill a sheriff's deputy

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - An east Alabama man is facing jail time after authorities say he tried to kill a sheriff's deputy.

A Lee County jury found Jacob Browning guilty for this 2015 crime.

Investigators say a Lee County Sheriff's Deputy drove into a situation where Browning, the gunman, was inside a house with two women.

Browning is also found guilty on charges of shooting into an occupied vehicle, kidnapping, and menacing or acting as a threat.

The Lee County district attorney's office says sentencing for this case will happen at a later date.
