COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Keep Columbus Beautiful Foundation held its annual awards luncheon Thursday.
The luncheon took place at the Cunningham Leadership Center and provided the chance to recognize volunteerism along with awarding organizations, businesses, and schools for their environmental friendly projects.
Billy Kendall, the chairperson of the Keep Columbus Beautiful Commission, discussed this year's theme.
"Our theme this year is 'Talking Trash' which addresses the litter problem in the Columbus area. It reminds citizens that we all need to be good stewards of the environment and keep our community clean," said Kendall.
This year marked the 26th year the awards luncheon has been held. WTVM's Jose Zozaya was the master of ceremony.
