The weekend looks even hotter, serving up a balmy Mother's Day for Mom! Once again on Friday, temperatures will manage to climb to the low 90s, but mid 90s are certainly a possibility for Saturday and Sunday.
The chance of a stray shower doesn't look impressive over the next three days, as dry conditions reign; however, the pattern changes next week as a developing disturbance in the Gulf sets its sights on the Southeast. Beginning late Monday and lingering into next weekend, expect off-and-on scattered rain and thunderstorms (40-60%).
With moderate drought conditions in place in parts of the Valley, next week's extended rain coverage looks to offer both relief from the dry spell and heat—expect high temperatures to moderate back into the 80s.
