Hundreds gather in Uptown Columbus for Frogtown Crawfish Festival

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Hundreds of people are in Uptown Columbus tonight for the Frogtown Crawfish Festival and a lot of good eating is going on.

The 2018 Frogtown Crawfish Festival is two days of Louisiana crawfish, food, drinks, music, arts and crafts, and games.

Visitors can expect live music both days with a local line up. Saturday kicks off with JonBoy Storey, Neal Lucas, Buck Bradshaw Band, Groove Monkeys, The Breakdowns – Tom Petty Tribute and Mango Strange.

You can purchase cooked crawfish by the pound for just $10 a pound.

The crawfish boil comes in a large at $20 and a small at $15.

"We're a big part of this event," said Justin Balsam of Omaha Brewing. "We linked up to sponsor the local guys here. We've got a great beer garden going and five local beers pouring."

There will also be a dance-off for kids for prizes.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Children's Miracle Network.

The price to get in is $10 for adults and kids 12 and under get in free.

The event runs from 6:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. tonight and 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. tomorrow.
