Phenix City NAACP hosts candidate forum for voters

PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - The Phenix City-Russell County chapter of the NAACP hosted an event Monday night as it works to make sure voters are well informed.

The candidate forum was held at the Central Activities Center in Phenix City.

Those running for several local and state-wide offices were there to participate in a moderated forum, in which they answered questions submitted by voters.

"It gives us a more personal touch with the candidates and also lets us know their background. Many times we don't know the background of the people we are voting for, so these kinds of forums will give us a little insight on that," said Alfonza Seldon, Russell County NAACP president.

Local educator Dr. Janet Goodwin served as the moderator.
