COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Standing Against Violence Organization (SAVE) hosted its first of several college talks in Columbus Monday.
The talks are aimed at educating youth and motivating adults to enroll in GED classes or apply to college. Delta Outley, the founder and CEO of SAVE said the event is important to help young people get ready for college.
"It's important to us and myself as the CEO of SAVE that we can see a difference and offer something to our young people and adults that want to go back to college," said Outley.
"The talks show young people and young adults the opportunities that there are in our community to do good and to benefit your family and yourself," added education expert Dr. Varonika Hardman.
Hardman was the facilitator at the event and provided information about the GED and financial aid advice.
