COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Participants in Columbus met in Uptown Columbus Tuesday for the 8th annual Ride with the Mayor bike ride.
The bike ride is to show citizens bike riding is for everyone. After the five-mile ride, participants returned to Uptown for dinner. This year's event was special because it was Mayor Teresa Tomlinson's last ride as mayor.
"We have made bike riding safe in Columbus, Georgia with the dragonfly trail and the fall line trace. We get you off the road in a lot of places. We are on the roads and bike trails with signs that can keep you safe," said Tomlinson.
More than 50 people joined the mayor tonight for the ride.
