Historic Westville tourist attraction headed to Columbus; volunteers needed to assist in the project

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - A popular tourist attraction is making its way to the Fountain City.

Historic Westville is looking to give those in Columbus a blast from the past as well as promote education while learning more about the 19th-century history and exciting handcrafts.

Construction is still underway for the attraction. This week, Executive Director Rob Choppa is looking for volunteers from students, teachers, and members of the Muscogee County School Board.

Choppa says bringing the attraction to Columbus is a $13 million project. A soft opening in August and an official opening in October is anticipated.
