HARRIS COUNTY, GA (WTVM) - The search is on for a new Superintendent of the Harris County School District.
News Leader 9 has confirmed that Superintendent Jimmy Martin resigned from the job several days ago.
His resignation comes following unspecified conflicts with the school board.
The board announced to staff Monday that retired Harris County High School Principal Roger Couch would step into the role temporarily until a permanent replacement is found.
Couch served as the principal of Harris County High from July 2001 to December 2015. He has been a professional educator for over 30 years, including 15 years in Harris County.
