GA gubernatorial candidate’s ‘Deportation Bus’ stops at park-and-ride after statement issued by Peachtree Mall

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Georgia gubernatorial candidate Michael Williams has found himself in hot water over his campaign tour featuring the 'Deportation Bus.'

The side of the bus reads: "Fill this bus with illegals. Vote Michael Williams." And on the back: "Danger! Murderers, rapists, kidnappers, child molesters, and other criminals on board. Stay back 1,000 feet. Follow me to Mexico."

Williams kicked off his campaign tour by making stops in cities he deemed 'sanctuary cities,' despite no official sanctuary cities being located in the state.

Williams made stops in Clarkston and Decatur, but had to cancel a stop in Athens due to protestors blocking the bus on May 16.

It was announced that the bus would stop at Peachtree Mall. However, the mall issued a preemptive statement about the possibility of the 'Deportation Bus' making a stop on their property. Therefore, the bus stopped at a park and ride on Manchester Expressway Friday evening where protestors were on site.
