COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

One Georgia Democratic governor candidate visited the Fountain City Monday.

Stacey Abrams stopped by Suggas restaurant on 18th Avenue to encourage people to vote tomorrow.

“I’m excited to be back in Columbus, Muscogee County where we have incredible leadership. I’m looking forward to joining them as the next governor of Georgia,” said Abrams.

Abrams faces Stacy Evans for the Democratic nomination for Georgia’s next governor. Lt. Governor Casey Cagle was also in the city Monday at the Columbus Airport in his quest for the Republican nomination.

A candidate from either party must get one vote more than 50 percent to win their primary outright.
