Muscogee Co. School Board candidate cleans up campaign signs

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One school board candidate is aware that community members are glad to see campaign signs go once an election is over.

Frank Meyers, who currently serves as the eighth district's representative on the Muscogee County School Board, was seeking re-election in May 22's election.

Meyers says that win or lose, he wants to make sure he does right by the city.

Meyers and his team will fan out across town to collect any campaign signs left in homeowners' yards or public areas

He says he knows how much of a nuisance these signs can be once election season has reached its end, saying that he "wants to respect the feelings of the people who were nice enough" to let him use their property for a few weeks.

Meyers lost the election to Dr. Philip Schley, who served on the Muscogee County School Board from 1972 to 1981 and again from 1998 to 2010, even serving as chairman from 2008 to 2010.
