COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - One seat was left empty at Kendrick High School's graduation Thursday evening in memory of a student who died last year.

Javion Shorter was a senior at Kendrick High and was killed in November after a shooting at Ballard Way Apartments in Columbus. Three teenagers were arrested in connection with his death.

A seat at the graduation ceremony was dressed in all white and decorated with his picture.  Family members say he was planning to head to the military.
