COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) -

A faith-based nonprofit organization held a ribbon cutting Friday for its new building in Columbus.

Take The City’s new location is in the 2900 block of Second Avenue.

Every month, members of the organization host a citywide prayer and community outreach which focuses on bringing people from different churches together.

Take The City did not have a building prior to obtaining its new Second Avenue location.

"For a long time, Take The City existed without any buildings. We were essentially a movement within the city. So now what's really cool is that we have this building that really embodies the values and the heart of the movement," said Andrew Chalmers, founder of Take The City.

Chalmers said the new space is dedicated to gathering people to pray and for meetings to plan new missions that will take place throughout Columbus.
