PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - A ninth-inning rally by Temple (TX) stunned the Chattahoochee Valley Community College Pirates as an error allowed two runs to score and end the game.

CVCC led 7-6 with two outs in the final inning. Temple had runners at first and second and two strikes on them. Seth Spinn knocked a base hit to left field that would have scored the tying run regardless, but an error in left field sent the ball even further to the wall, allowing the second and winning run to score for Temple.

Chattahoochee Valley came into the inning leading 7-5 thanks to two big innings. They trailed 2-0 in the fourth until three home runs in four hitters gave them a 4-2 lead. Isaac Phillips, Jay Meuse and Tre Kirklin all went yard to give the Pirates the lead.

Temple responded in the seventh with two runs to tie it up, but CVCC came right back in the next inning to put up three more runs, making it 7-4. One run in the eighth made it 7-5 Pirates going into the final inning.

This loss is the second of the JUCO World Series for CV, and the Pirates are officially out of the tournament. Their season ends with a 48-12 record and an ACCC Tournament Championship.
