(WTVM) - Starbucks stores across the country will close this afternoon for company-wide diversity training, including several in the Chattahoochee Valley.
The coffee giant will train more than 175,000 employees to better identify and prevent prejudices and bias.
This comes after two black men were arrested last month in a Philadelphia store for using the bathroom without purchasing anything.
Starbucks says the techniques their employees learn will be used to train new hires.
Columbus has several Starbucks locations including one on Bradley Park, Manchester, Veterans and in Midland.
All participating locations will close at 2:30 p.m.
