(WTVM) -

Tuesday proved to be a great afternoon for Alabama’s men’s golf team. After winning in the quarterfinals over Texas Tech, they bulldozed past Duke to earn a spot in the Wednesday’s National Championship round.

Davis Riley and Wilson Furr dominated in their first match play rounds of the day. Riley won his match 5&4, and Furr crushed the competition with a 7&6 score.

Davis Shore closed things out, knocking in a birdie putt on the 8th green to take his match 2&1. Bama won the overall contest 3-2 to book their spot in the semifinals later in the afternoon.

They had no trouble beating the Blue Devils in the next round. All five golfers won their respective matches. Lee Hodges, Jonathan Hardee, and Riley both won theirs 3&2, Furr had the closest match with a 2&1 win, and Shore had the best finish of all with a 6&5.

Bama will face the top-seeded team in the tournament, Oklahoma State, in the National Championship tomorrow. They’re scheduled to tee off around 3:25 p.m. EST, 2:25 p.m.CST.
