Lee Co. Commission celebrates new senior center; reviews recent road closures during meeting

LEE COUNTY, AL (WTVM) - The Lee County Commission celebrated the opening of a new senior center and reviewed road closures following recent storms in the area.

A ribbon cutting was held to celebrate the new senior community center prior to the start of the commission's meeting Tuesday evening. The old Lee County Senior Center flooded during a storm last week.

Crews cleared the first of two bridges on Lee Road 318 to reopen for local traffic only. The other two bridges on Lee Road 318 will remain closed until construction on them is complete.

The bridge on Lee Road 249 is closed until all damages are fixed.
