Water line cut off at Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery, 52K trout killed

A reward is being offered for information about a Chattahoochee fish kill.

Officials at the Chattahoochee Forest National Fish Hatchery say the main water line to the hatchery was cut off.

About 52,000 trout, worth $62,000, were killed as a result.

The Fannin County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating.

The Hatchery’s Friends group is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for the fish kill.
