FIRST TO ALERT: Run of the mill summertime pattern in place this week.

(WTVM) - Typical summertime weather persists for the week ahead. Each day temperatures will climb to at or near 90 degrees, though it will feel much warmer thanks to the humidity. The next few days feature 50-60% coverage of scattered storms developing in the late afternoon and evening hours. Any storm that fires up has the potential to produce frequent lightning, heavy downpours, and gusty winds—par for the course of this time of the year though!

Though we're still several days out, overall the weekend trends a little drier and warmer as a ridge of high pressure looks to build in over the Southeast. This pattern chance will cause rain chances to dwindle slightly and potentially boost temperatures into the low 90s.

In general, this type of pattern is not unusual for June. And a shower can certainly be a welcome relief from the balmy air!
