Public to give input on proposed skate park in Auburn-Opelika

AUBURN/OPELIKA, AL (WTVM) -

The public will have its say in the design for a proposed skate park planned in the Auburn-Opelika area.

Two public meetings will be held with two design companies to gather ideas for the new park.

The first meeting will be held June 26 at the Opelika Sportsplex and the second meeting will be June 27 at the Harris Center in Auburn. Both meetings will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Input from the meetings will be put together into design proposals for the new park and the public will be able to vote for their favorite design online.

    Saturday, Aug. 18 at approximately 3:45 a.m. Auburn Police responded to the 800 block of N. Donahue Dr. in reference to a shooting.  Upon arrival officers located three individuals that had been injured in an apartment.  One female was suffering from a minor injury, a male suffered a life-threatening injury, another male was dead at the time of arrival.  All injuries were a result of the shooting.
