Annie Jorgensen named Miss Georgia 2018 in the 74th Annual Miss Georgia Pageant

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM)- The 74th Annual Miss Georgia Pageant concluded last night at the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, Georgia.

There were 53 women from across the state competing for an academic scholarship and the title of Miss Georgia 2018. Contestants have competed in preliminary competitions of an interview, lifestyle and fitness in swimsuit, talent, evening wear, on-stage question, and a private interview leading up to tonight's final competition. 

The night began with the naming of the Top 15 for Miss Georgia narrowing down then to Top 10 semi-finalists who competed in the swimsuit competition . These contestants also competed in evening wear and talent competitions before the Top 5 finalists were named.

Here is a quick look at the Top 15: 

Annie Jorgenson, Miss International City, was selected as the 2018 Miss Georgia, receiving $17,500 in the scholarship awards, and the opportunity to compete in the 2019 Miss America pageant starting on September 9, 2018.

Also receiving scholarship awards were:

Fourth runner-up, Miss Historic Buford — Alex Gilomen ($2500)

Third runner-up, Miss Cobb County — Victoria Hill ($3500)

Second runner-up, Miss Atlanta — Brooke Doss ($5000)

First runner-up, Miss Fulton County — Chari Guzman ($7500)

The remaining top ten semi-finalists received a $1500 scholarship and the remaining top fifteen received a $1000 scholarship.

    Auburn police arrested a man on several warrants. On Friday, July 13 28-year-old Stephen Blalock from Auburn was arrested on felony and misdemeanor warrants.
