Organization hosts forum for candidates running in Muscogee County run-off elections

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - The Southern Anti-Racism Network hosted a candidates forum Tuesday for the upcoming run-off elections for the Columbus City Council and Muscogee County School Board.

Mike Edmonson and Bart Steed are squaring off for the school board seat that is currently held by John Thomas. Amy Bryan and John House are running for the city council at-large seat previously held by Mayor-Elect Skip Henderson.

"We're keeping the moment up you know we've got to get engaged and encouraged and back at the polls and that is going to be hard," commented Bryan.

"Early Voting start next week So they have an opportunity to express their opinions right now for two important positions, one for school board and one for city council," mentioned House.

At the forum, candidates were asked questions on how they will address public safety and school security concerns in Muscogee County.

The run-off election is July 24 and early voting starts July 2.
