ATHENS, GA (WTVM) - University of Georgia starting quarterback Jake Fromm has fractured one of his hands in a boating accident.
Dawgnation.com confirms that Fromm fractured his left hand this week while riding on the back of a boat on Lake Burton in north Georgia.
Reports say someone was water skiing behind the boat Fromm was in and when they let go of the rope, the handle flew back, striking the quarterback in his non-throwing hand.
Reports say the 19-year-old is not expected to miss any practices and will be wearing a splint for the next few weeks.
UGA's first game of the season is set for Sept. 1 at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga.
