Columbus Paws Humane Society offers aid to displaced animals during Hurricane Florence

COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - Current projections show Hurricane Florence is going to have an impact on the east coast with North and South Carolina most at risk.

Shelters and rescues need help providing relief from the storm.

Paws Humane is expecting to take in multiple dogs and cats before and after the storm. This year they would like to be a staging facility for shelter animals from the affected states.

Families who are suitable to take in shelter animals are lined up to help.

There are a few ways to help with keeping a furry friend safe during the hurricane.

The Paws Humane Society is asking for donations to help them makes this a success.

You can also become a foster parent to help displaced animals. Click here if you would like to help a displaced animal.

To donate you can go to www.pawshumane.org/donate and be sure to put 'Hurricane Florence' in the comments section. You can also donate through their post on Facebook.

They are not aware of exactly what supplies are needed at this time and say the best way to donate is through monetary donations.
