COLUMBUS, GA (WTVM) - People living at Wilson Homes Apartments say they are not getting the attention they need.
Neighbors say yards are overgrown, and trash fills the street, and they have little to no support from management.
"This is no way for us to live like this," said Troy Goss, whose daughter lives in the area.
Goss says he comes to Wilson Homes Apartments weekly, not just to visit his daughter and grandchildren, but to help clean up the trash scattered around the complex, and also cut the grass.
He says more needs to be done.
"They spend all this money on renovating the property, but they don't have anyone to maintain the property," said Goss.
Sonji Dunbar, who has been living in the homes for more than five years says these issues and more have been happening for far too long.
"They just renovated these apartments, since I moved into my new apartment they have had problems with the plumbing, I stay near by dumpsters, they don't' want to clean up, trash everywhere, they don't like to fix stuff," said Dunbar.
We called the Columbus Housing Authority that manages the site multiple times, but our calls were not returned.
Goss, says he just wants management to try a little harder. He believes this will help improve the quality of everyone's life in the area.
"If you take care of the property better, maybe we, they will start living better, and they will start doing better, and you will see an improvement in their property," said Goss.
