PHENIX CITY, AL (WTVM) - Central High School in Phenix City celebrated a private grand opening for its on-campus restaurant Thursday.
The Brick Bistro is part of the school's culinary arts program.
All of the meals were prepared and served by the students. Faculty and staff ate foods such as ribs, pizza, and shrimp.
The mayor of Phenix City along with the school district's superintendent attended the grand opening.
One student told why he signed up for the culinary program.
"My mother is really into cooking. I want to compete with her. I want to help her out in the kitchen because she is a hard-working woman," said Central High student Leland Boswell.
The Brick Bistro will open to the public next Wednesday.
