LAGRANGE, GA (WTVM) - The City of LaGrange Animal Services is taking in several dogs and cats from Hilton Head, South Carolina to help with Hurricane Florence relief.

The Hilton Head Humane Society evacuated animals with the help of the Atlanta Humane Society and brought 20 cats and 16 dogs to LaGrange.

"We're fortunate enough to partner with Puppy Pipeline," said Chris Bussey, LaGrange Animal Services supervisor.  "They are a rescue based out of Atlanta. They transport animals to the northern states to no-kill shelters. We actually have two transports going out---one tonight and one tomorrow. It's opened up a lot of space and due to us having the space, I just wanted to give back to a community that might be experiencing some rough times ahead."

The animals are currently up for adoption at $18.50 for dogs, $16 for cats, and $75 for puppies.  If interested in adopting any of the animals, visit the animal shelter at 1390 Orchard Hill Road.

Donations of dog food, towels, blankets, dog bowls, cat litter, and paper towels are also being accepted.
