FIRST TO ALERT: Sizzling summer heat on tap this week.

Monday Weather on the Go

(WTVM) - Though we’re only days away from the Fall Equinox, summer intends to have the last laugh with blistering heat from the weekend sticking around this week. Highs will soar into the mid 90s each afternoon thanks to dry sunshine in place over the next several days. Some lingering humidity in the area will also push feels like temperatures closer to the triple digits.

Overall, we remain mainly dry until Thursday, when some returning moisture to the Valley brings us a few isolated thundershowers during the heat of the afternoon; however, rain chances still not looking too impressive even as we go into the weekend, though more clouds will be in the mix.

For now, next week favors more opportunities for showers and storms in the forecast, but we'll fine-tune that outlook for you. Just know, leading up to the first day of fall, it's still going to feel an awful lot like summer!
